The Houston Cougars (11-1) look to win their first conference championship since 2006 when they take on the Temple Owls (10-2) this Saturday, December 5th at 11am on ABC. The Coogs last title was won back during the Art Briles and Kevin Kolb era against Southern Miss. The Coogs made a lot of noise during the Kevin Sumlin era (2008-11) but fell short in two separate title games.

Houston will face a very tough and defensive-minded Temple team on Saturday and the Coogs lead the all-time series 4-0. The winner will very likely be headed to a New Years Six bowl game… most predictions saying either the Peach Bowl or the Fiesta Bowl. Rookie Houston coach Tom Herman hopes his banged-up squad call pull out one more victory at home to send the program to one of their biggest bowl games in school history.
