Navy sunk as Houston wins first division title since 2011!

Greg Ward Jr. was back under center for Houston as the Coogs rolled up 555 yards of total offense for a 52-31 win over Navy to capture the American Athletic Conference west division title. Ward Jr. accounted for three passing touchdowns and added two more on the ground. Ward Jr. was 26 for 35 passing with 308 yards and also carried the ball 14 times for 83 yards. Houston wide receiver Demarcuys Ayers added eight receptions for 161 yards and one touchdown while also passing for a 29-yard touchdown pass. His total yardage for the day was 224. Check out this incredible catch Ayers made:

With the win over Navy the Cougars won their first division title since winning the Conference USA west division in 2011. That season the Coogs would later lose the conference title game against Southern Miss. This coming Saturday, December 5th the Coogs look to win their first conference championship since 2006 and will host either Temple or South Florida in the inaugural AAC championship game.

Houston cornerback Brandon Wilson was moved to running back in place of the injured Kenneth Farrow and Ryan Jackson and accounted for 22 carries for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

The Cougars punted only once the entire game as their offense went 16-19 on third downs and 2-2 on fourth down conversions.
