via Houston Athletics

The Coogs picked up their second conference win of the season over the SMU Mustangs Thursday night 49-28 to improve to 5-0 on the season.

Video highlights here:

Greg Ward Jr. impressed again with four rushing touchdowns on 14 carries with 82 yards. Ward Jr. also completed 16 of 18 yards passing for 243 yards (an 88.9% completion percentage). Kenneth Farrow added 11 carries for 40 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

Not counting today’s games, Houston is #6 in the nation in total offense. An even more impressive statistic is the Cougars’ offense is in near-perfect balance: The Coogs have 1437 rushing yards on the year and 1430 passing yards.

Coach Herman is on an 18 game winning streak as a head coach and offensive coordinator, going back to his days at Ohio State last season. Herman hasn’t lost since September 6th, 2014. Let’s hope that streak continues a little bit longer.
